In terms of performance“IN TERMS OF PERFORMANCE is a keywords anthology designed to provoke discovery across artistic disciplines.”
Independent Dance Digital Library“Independent Dance’s digital library houses an extensive range of research material to read, watch and listen to. This material is from the past 15 years of our near-40 year history and is drawn from work ID has programmed, or with which ID has a direct connection.
By re-releasing this archive and creating this new digital space as a home for documentation of our programme and research, ID aims to create a non-academic, dance research resource which is freely available to all.“
Syllabus Project“Syllabus was born from a conversation about discovery and learning. In discussing the ways that cultural artifacts travel through a society, we imagined how a syllabus could function as a creative tool that allows you to do things like:
i. present what you feel is important for others to experience or consume;
ii. group items together in ways that shade and refine their meaning;
iii. apply a conceptual or idiosyncratic approach to the syllabus form;
iv. develop rogue pedagogies.“
*A very cool website! Love it
Material for the Spine“Material for the Spine, a movement study is an interactive online publication (Web-app). Conceived by the dancer Steve Paxton as both a meditation on the spine and a technical approach, Material for the Spine focuses on experience acquired along his artistic journey: his study on walking, his experience as a dancer, the development of Contact Improvisation and his Aïkido practice. This 4 hour long interactive publication online features the technique in its formal dimension and underlying thought process. Exercises and physical explorations are combined with lectures and documents of original performances, aiming to “bring consciousness to the dark side of the body, its hidden aspect or its interior.””
